NBAA’s New Scholarship

A New Scholarship Opportunity

 *
The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) recently announced the establishment of the Donald A. Baldwin, Sr., Business Aviation Management Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to the first recipient in 2008 at the CAMC Leadership Conference. Mr. Baldwin, an accomplished general aviation pilot and beloved father, was a Member of NBAA’s Board of Directors from 1968 to 1971. He was also recipient of the NBAA John P. “Jack” Doswell Award in 1992 and recipient of the Flight Safety Foundation Business Aviation Meritorious Service Award in 1991.

The scholarship offered in Baldwin’s honor, will promote professional development in business aviation by providing financial support for individuals seeking to become NBAA Certified Aviation Managers. These funds, totaling $1,025 per recipient, will cover expenses involved in preparing for the CAM Exam. Successful applicants must explain their plans for a career in business aviation, provide a recommendation letter of support, and meet minimum qualifications to take the CAM Exam.

Who Is NBAA?

Founded in 1947 and based in Washington, DC, the National Business Aviation Association, Inc. is the leading organization for companies that rely on general aviation aircraft to help make their businesses more efficient, productive and successful. The association represents more than 7,000 member companies and provides more than 100 products and services to the business aviation community.

NBAA's goal is to “create an environment that fosters business aviation in the United States and around the World.” They pursue that goal by constantly striving to be a world-class organization that:

  • Enhances safety, security and professionalism
  • Provides operational assistance to our Members
  • Shapes public policy
  • Projects a positive image of our industry
  • Hosts leading aviation shows and conferences

The annual NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is known as the World's largest civil aviation trade show. Hundreds of exhibitors host thousands of attendees who migrate between the indoor and outdoors display area. NBAA’s annual gathering is known as Atlanta will play host to NBAA2007 from September 25 to 27, 2007 at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta.

For a sneak peek at what an NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention looks like, we take you behind the scenes courtesy of AirsideTV ‘s video coverage of NBAA2006.
